Using Your Computer as a Fax Machine

If your regular fax machine is not working then you could use your computer to send and receive faxes!

First you need to ensure that your computer has a modem installed. This modem can be an external modem or it can be an internal modem.

First you have to select add programmes from the control panel of your windows programme, then select the option to add programmes. You then select add windows components and a list of programmes including the fax programme will appear, giving you a checkbox for you to click.

You then have to select your fax icon from the printers menu and you should then enable you fax to send and to receive faxes.

Laptops which do not have modems can have a pcmia modem card installed. Digicel and Cable and Wireless for example, sell cards that can work as modems. These cards use the sim card which comes with your cell phone.

Before you can use your sim card though, check with the cellular company to enabled a fax number on the sim card. This feature allows you to send and receive faxes where there are no fix lines available using a laptop for example.

Your Cell Phone Email Address???

Have you ever thought of it? Your cell phone just might have an email address! Do you have MMS(Multi Media Service) enabled on your phone? If you are a Digicel cellular phone owner and you have MMS enabled on your phone, then someone could send an email to your phone at 1876{phone number}@mmc.digiceljamaica.com.

You could try and find out the address for the other cellular phone companies for me. I would love to know them.

Inserting an Excel document in Word.

Many persons who have some figures to print in using Microsoft Word, usually enter then in Word and then use a calculator to total the figures and then enter the total. The truth is, if you change one of the figures, the total will will not change>

How about using the Insert menu in Microsoft Word, then selecting Object and the select Microsoft Excel. An Excell spreadsheet appear in your word document and you can enter your figures put in your total formulae. You can now click in another area of the document and there you have your figures and total in Word. If you want to access the Excel area then all you have to do is to double click on the area where you inserted the the Excel programme and you have access to the Excel programme again.

Basically you have all access to Excel features while working in Microsoft Word.
